The findings of the first of a series of online surveys by Financial Director magazine and Expense Reduction Analysts have been published.In response to the question: Is the Government doing enough to address the UK’s fiscal deficit? the majority of respondents (59%) felt that the current plan is not effective;
whilst 19% were not drawn but concluded that the Conservatives will have to fix it. However more than a fifth (22%) were of the opinion that the Government was doing enough and felt confident that it will be cut in the time it has been promised by Labour.
The next survey, which can be found at www.financialdirector.co.uk, will look at what cost savings organisations are hoping to achieve in 2010 against the backdrop of continued uncertainty.
