Goodwood House, built in the 17th century and set in 12,000 acres of West Sussex countryside, has been the seat of the Dukes of Richmond for more than 300 years. Goodwood is famous for Glorious Goodwood in the horse racing calendar, for the world-renowned Festival of Speed, for the Goodwood Revival, showcasing cars from the 40s, 50s and 60s, and for Vintage at Goodwood, its new celebration of five decades of British popular culture.
Less well known is the fact that the Goodwood brand spans 26 operating businesses, including a hotel, organic farm, golf courses and airfield, alongside its higher profile interests.
Andrew Hamilton of Expense Reduction Analysts approached Goodwood in 2009, shortly after Alex Williamson’s appointment. The two discussed a range of categories for possible analysis, and it soon became clear that a number of Expense Reduction Analysts specialists would be required to work on the different areas.
In the weeks that followed, Andrew introduced Sue Robinson to look at Waste, Ian Morrison and Steve Clamp on Facilities, Sue Cooke for Office Supplies, Ross McNaughton to analyse Commercial and Marketing Print, Brian Holmes for Landlines and Paul Giness on Business Rates.
