Payphone Plus, the premium rates regulator, has told Radio 4’s today programme that they believe the rules on premium rate texts should be strengthened in order to protect mobile users.
According to Pritesh Patel an ERA Communications specialist, “Providers have been warned before, and it’s about time that these loopholes were closed. Time and again we find clients being charged excess amounts by suppliers, which clients do not have a clear visibility of until ERA audit their usage a highlight these costs. We help client’s to prevent the costs through applying barring and end-user education, to eliminate costs which should have no place on a business telecoms invoice”
