ACCO Brands has just announced that it is to acquire Esselte for $333 million. The deal will see ACCO combine Esselte with its existing European operations creating a pan-European player with more than $600 million in sales. ACCO will add the Leitz, Rapid and Esselte brands to its storage and organisation, stapling and punch, business machines and do-it-yourself tools product categories.
