Current poor mobile coverage is a common concern raised by many clients, and one that is not unique with reports that more than 70% of businesses are suffering from “not spots” or patchy mobile internet coverage according to a recent British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) survey.

This shows mobile providers are currently falling well short of Ofcom’s target of almost all UK premises receiving a 4G signal by the end of 2017. The BCC is calling for planning restrictions to be relaxed, to allow for taller mobile phone masts to be built which in turn can improve coverage, while Ofcom are making new airwaves available to boost signal.

The question of mobile coverage is a key consideration when ERA are reviewing a client’s Mobile requirements.
