      I am becoming Chair of Advisory Board (i.e. the operational board of the franchisor) and a non-executive director of the franchisor.

      This is obviously an exciting development for me. However, this is a part-time role and I am committed to maintaining my independence through the successful business I have built up over the last nine years. My clients will see no difference in the service I am dedicated to offering. If anything, my standing within the franchise should add to your confidence in that service.

      Announcement

      ... I am announcing the following changes with effect from September 1st:

      I am stepping down as Chair of the Advisory Board and appointing Adam Wheatley to this role. As a member of the [franchise] network, Adam will be well placed to help the Advisory Board to keep the main board properly focused on the issues that offer the greatest value to the network, and so to the organisation as a whole. I will continue as a member of the AB, reporting on progress and taking responsibility for actions alongside my fellow main board executive directors.

      The Chair of the AB will now also be appointed as a non-executive director on Expense Reduction Analysts UK’s main board. This will add significantly to the extent to which the Advisory Board can challenge the main board by giving it a real and active presence in the governance of Expense Reduction Analysts UK and all future decision making of the company. It will be the first time that the [franchise] network has been given a voice on the main board, which is absolutely in accordance with the spirit of partnership I am seeking to foster between the [franchise] network and Group Office.

      Much of what Expense Reduction Analysts now do as part of the service is founded upon innovations that Adam has introduced to the network.

      This success, plus Adam's efforts to help Expense Reduction Analysts drive up our performance in delighting clients, have lead to him receiving a number of awards from the network, including Consultant of the Year (see article), a customer service award and two awards for his contribution to the network.

      Adam has undertaken a variety of roles within Expense Reduction Analysts in his efforts to help improve our performance. These include:
      - member of Expense Reduction Analysts UK Advisory Board (and before that the Franchisor Advisory Council)
      - chair of Client Acquisition sub group
      - chair of North West region
      - member of Client Development sub group

      Adam's ability to understand the value sought by clients, and then successfully redirect internal energies to deliver that value, is based on his previous experience. Adam has managed businesses in the food and IT sectors, delivering spectacular profit growth. He has also had business strategy roles in organisations in the charity, food and utilities sectors. Prior to such roles he was a purchasing professional responsible for annual budgets in excess of £20m pa.
